This area, bordered by Elgin Street has quietly and quickly reinvented
itself. So much so, that local residents have taken to calling this
once desolate row of old Chinese shop houses SoHo, a name evocative
of art, of culture, of fine cuisine. London had the first, New york
the seocond. Now there is a third, meaning South of Hollywood.
And
like New York and London, SoHo Hong Kong is about escape; about quiet,
dark cafes open till morning; discovering a new culture, a new ethnicity,
through its food. It is about getting away from the hustle and bustle
of the daily grind that drives the city; an alternative to that overly-beaten
track, the hard-to-find places that you tell no one save your closest
friends.
